SOAR: Student Orientation and Academic Registration

SOAR is a comprehensive program that begins the process of orientation for incoming students at the University of Evansville. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the University's Parent Orientation Program which takes place simultaneously.

Registration for each event is necessary in order to be scheduled for an advising and, registration appointment. The SOAR program will be held in person.

SOAR is required for incoming freshmen and recommended for all incoming students under age 21; any incoming student may register for and attend SOAR. Students transferring to UE and adult undergraduates may choose the option to attend a condensed program called ACE Orientation.

International students also attend SOAR after they arrive to the U.S. in August.

SOAR Registration will open mid-March.

• ACE Orientation (for transfer students) Friday, August 18, 2023
• SOAR III Friday, August 18, 2023

Every new student is required to attend one of the SOAR sessions. During SOAR, students will have an opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and advisors; select courses for the fall semester; and receive important information about residence life, student financial services, career development, the health center, and other campus entities.

The SOAR program gives students and parents a special preview of the University community. It also sets the tone of what we want entering students to do: SOAR, achieve new heights and succeed!
